The Year That Will Be.

After the year that was, 2014 threw its last blow my way - my young kitten had to be put to sleep after complications arose while specialists were trying to relieve him of fluid in his lungs, and I am absolutely devastated for it. But it was for the best. Poor Scout had a very serious case of heart disease, and likely only would have lived a few months if he had made it through those tests. Those months would have been filled with agony for him, so it is a comfort at least to know he will no longer be in pain.

Now 2015 is here, and I am hoping for a better year. And as per usual, instead of coming up with resolutions, I have a to-do list. So let's take a look, shall we?

Renée Shantel's 2015 To-Do List!

Write: so this one's pretty obvious. In 2015, I want to get my writing muse back. I want to try second drafting one of those originals I never got to this year, and I want to write new things I can be proud of. I might even jump back into poetry and song writing. In the meantime, I am re-writing my old fan fiction Crash Into Me, and as an added bonus I want to attempt to turn it into an original, too.

Take More Photos: in 2014, one of the items on my to-do list was to shoot at least six concerts. Having shot only two, I failed this miserably - but I didn't care. The second concert I photographed was that of my favourite band, Avenged Sevenfold. So I got the live a dream there. After that I got my new job, so I didn't much have the time or the energy for shooting shows and interviewing bands. This year I'm not going to be so specific. This year, I just want to take more photos. For myself. Because that's the way that I like to shoot.

Do More Creative DIY Projects: lately I've had the urge to go out and buy some wood, just so I can build something. In the past, I've attempted making my own jewellery. And who doesn't want to buy clothes and then alter them to make something new altogether? This year, I want to try my hand at all of these things. I want to get creative, and I want my hands to be busy with beautiful things.

Complete Driving Lessons: as I write this, I am nine hours away from completing the compulsory one-hundred and twenty hours of driving that learners must achieve. After that I will be able to go through the test for my provisional license. It's a big step for me, and I'm excited for it.

Keep Dancing: as a little girl, I always wanted to be a ballerina. But I was shy, we were a single income family, and I never bothered to ask for lessons. So in 2014, when I decided that I wanted to improve my fitness, my flexibility, and my posture, I decided to look into adult classes. And I'm having so much fun with them that I want to continue through 2015, and maybe even try some different styles of dance.

Eat More Fruits and Vegetables: I read an article the other day that said something along the lines of, "Stop dieting; just eat more fruits and vegetables!" And I thought that was great. I started 2014 with eating at least one piece of fruit every day, and this year I want to do it again. I want to make sure there are always fruits and vegetables in the house, and that I am eating these in place of junk.

And last, but definitely not least on my list of things to do?

Be Happy.
